My Art
Oh, I get it. This is your kind of art. Working with your hands. Flowers. Spaces. Everything you touch looks beautiful.” Said the guy who popped his head into a venue I was designing for a wedding. Thank you, I responded, Yah I suppose this is my art.
It wasn’t until recently that I saw my self as a Creative. Let alone an artist. I thought that desired title was for the painters and sculptors and singers. Although my dirty bare feet, untamed hair and eclectic home could make people think I was “one of them.”
Thankfully, that stereotype I once had did not last long. I see each human being as art themselves. Life is art. Love is art. Communication. Vulnerability. Authenticity is an art. So are curated lounges, tablescapes, and stand up comedy. Grateful for the opportunity to add a little color to this wonderful world we’re all a part of. And all of you are my inspiration.
